As many of you know, we lost our lease. We will not be relocating the store, so we must say goodbye.
Today we removed the last load of stuff from what was the Wild Rose. As I walked around one last time turning off each light I felt the 10 years that I've owned the store come rushing back to me. The excitement of when I bought the store and the fear of "can I do this?” was replaced by the encouragement from our customers. It has been a pleasure framing all of your cherished family mementos and your artwork. We loved hearing about your families, helping with your art projects and picking out just the right gift for your loved ones. We will miss you all very much.
There are so many incredible people who have enriched our lives and supported this amazing community art store for 37 years! You guys helped keep her alive. We can't thank you enough for giving us the chance to support your artistic endeavors. All of us at Wild Rose really felt passion for what we do/did but it wouldn't have been possible without you so thank you for letting us play!
I personally want to thank all the women that I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know. Donna, Sara, Carol.... Melodie, Jude, Jeannie, Kitsy, Cassidy, and Maggie... I'm totally missing somebody here. Please forgive me. Thank you ladies for sharing your talents and helping to keep the store going. Thank you Stephanie Prothero!
Thank you to the Pajaro Valley Arts Council, Pajaro Valley Unified School District, all our teachers, and the City of Watsonville.
Special thank you to all of our friends that pitched in and helped us liquidate and you know who you are.... I can't thank you all enough!
We will miss you all very much!
Make art and keep the peace!
